Year 7 Japanese Dinner 2016

img_6682This year for our annual Japanese dinner we headed towards the city to Ginza restaurant to sample some yummy Japanese cuisine. We feasted on Miso soup, Gyoza, and a selection of mains including Udon noodle soup and chicken teriyaki. Congratulations to Angas and Lexi who took away the Japanese award for excellence this year.

Thanks to parents and to everyone who attended and was brave enough to try some new foods. Big thanks to Milani Sensei for organising the dinner.

Bridge Building 2016

Congrats to our latest batch of super bridge engineers. During term 4 we designed and built our pop-stick bridges to span a divide of 40cm and withstand as much force as possible before failure. This years winner (no spoilers!) held a never before seen load of over 30kg. Thanks to everyone who participated in the day!

E-Books 2016 – Now Published

yetiDuring a busy term 4 we have been creating E-books for publishing on the online E-book store. Pairs of students were tasked with writing a narrative story that would appeal to a specific audience. She have added 11 new books to our ever growing library and hope to possibly print some of the “best-of-the-best” from the past few years for display and borrowing in the library. Books are available for students and families to download for free, students can search their own name or Hallett Cove South on the iBooks store or iTunes.
